We’re excited to announce that starting 21st January HGFC will be offering a 12 week football development programme for girls aged 11 years upwards! This will take place on Saturdays from 11am - 12pm at Coneygear Park in Huntingdon.
Momentum within the girl's game has seen significant growth after the achievement of the Lionesses in July 2022, with interest in women's football up 12% amongst girls age 5-16 in England since the tournament, as well as growth across refereeing and coaching. The club continues to receive enquiries from aspiring new players of all ages and the new programme offers older girls an entry point into community football.
These sessions are for all abilities and levels of experience and are led by an FA level 2 qualified football coach. Whether girls have tried football at school, or had a kick about in their local park, they can come along to learn new skills, have fun and play football.
The first session is free then it’s £2.50 pay as you go. No need to book, just wear appropriate footwear and comfortable clothing, then turn up and play!
